Hershey Part 2 - The Parade!
Who doesn't love a parade! Every year the Hershey Annual Fall Meet concludes with a huge car show on Saturday morning. All the cars for the show must be driven onto the field, no trailers. There is a fairly steep hill leading up to the show field, which provides a bit of a challenge for some of the one and two cylinder cars, but they all make it up! So starting about 6:30 on Saturday morning, those of us who have not already seen enough cars during week, start lining the hill that leads up to the show field. First timers stand, old timers bring folding chairs. It is a fabulous rolling car show, the cars come to you, a steady line of cars from 6:30 to 9:00, with and almost endless variety of cars, trucks and the occasional motorcycle! The opportunity to see so many antique, classic and sports cars rolling along up the hill is not to be missed. They were meant to be driven. The sights, the sounds and sizes of all these different types of cars on the move is really something to behold. Here are just a few of the approximately 1200 cars that attended the show. The big cloud is the steamer blowing its whistle!
