Installing a hinged MGB Battery Cover

Installing a hinged MGB Battery Cover

This product is one of the cleverest new parts I have seen in awhile. For any of you that have a 75-80 MGB, you know the cover to the battery box is not the best design. The Dzus fastners do not really fit a coin, or a small screwdriver. The slot is so shallow that it can be frustrating to open or close them with any tool! This clever hinged cover is the perfect solution to the problem. This cover fastens to the rear bulkhead, and hinges open to access the battery. The Dzus fasteners on the right side firmly attach this lid to the bulkhead, and the Dzus fastners on the left side are fitted with convenient ring loops that make opening and closing the lid super easy. The Dzus fasteners attach to the original 'wire' clips of the original cover. It is so clever I installed it on my own 77 MGB! It actually took more time to remove the original cover than to install the new one. Here are some photos.
