Back to Lime Rock Park for the Spring Sprints!
Abingdon Spares ventured out in the newly "refreshed" MG YA to Lime Rock Park for the VSCCA's Spring Sprints. This is normally a low key event for spectators, and due to the ongoing pandemic it seemed a bit smaller than usual, in the spectator count. It was not low key in the racer department as there was a full schedule of races and racers. The field was the expected mix of old and new (new meaning post war!) sports cars, formula cars and race cars, a great mix. The racers seemed glad to be back out on the track once again.
It was a very enjoyable ride for me in the Y type. It is a very comfortable, dare I say, luxurious, little MG saloon. Cruising the back roads up to Lime Rock is always a pleasure, although I do admit, without the supercharger the hills required some advanced planning! Overall a great driving day, both on and off the track.
Here are a few photos of the cars.
