The February MG of the Month, the 1953 MG TD Mark II of Jim Neiburger of Stilwell, Kansas. Here is some background on the car from Jim.
"The car was bought from the estate of the son of the original owner about five years ago. It had undergone a cosmetic restoration in the mid-nineties but had been in damp storage for a number of years. When we removed it from the basement where it had been stored, it was moldy and required many hours of cleaning, deodorizing, and polishing. The engine smoked badly and the transmission rattled. The brakes cylinders were frozen. The braking system was thoroughly renovated, but the smoking was not amenable to routine remedies. The engine was removed, disassembled, and fully rebuilt. The crankshaft was found to have a crack and was replaced. The transmission was sent out for rebuilding, and the radiator and fuel systems were cleaned and the fuel pumps replaced. New tires, a fresh alignment, a little paint touch-up, and some new chrome items completed the project. The car is driven mostly on rural roads when the weather is nice."
